PROJECT SUMMARY

As organizations grow, it can become increasingly difficult to share information, news, best practices, and resources. Global Media Operations, a technical organization within NBCUniversal with over 1,000 employees across four facilities nationwide, grew almost 100% over a four-year period, creating information pockets across the organization. To help unify this organization, I led a small team to pitch, design, produce, and launch an internal portal called "GMO Now." To build this portal, we aligned with the company-wide Microsoft 365 investment and leveraged Sharepoint as our platform.

This portal became the central internal communication hub, enabling a communication ecosystem between the monthly newsletter and other employee initiatives, including the overhauled onboarding experience (click here to view)

RESOURCES

Centralized resources & information for easy access to all employees

GLOSSARY

With dozens of industry and NBCUniversal-specific terms and acronyms, it can be hard to know what team members are saying. What is the dNOC vs the NOC? What is an MVPD? To help alleviate this uncertainty, We built a comprehensive glossary to help employees navigate the language of the business.

TOOLS

Information regarding tools available to all employees was siloed and inconsistent. Even more-so, employees didn't know how to gain access. We established one comprehensive page displaying all tools by category and how to gain access and licenses.

HOW-TO'S

Started a "How-to" library with short video demos or documents explaining simple operational tasks from updating your email signature to leading a video conference. This, like all sections, was designed as a growing resource to answer the continuous questions of the operations teams.
